Silent March For Racial Justice And A Name Change For Dixie School District

Why: We quietly walk together for racial justice and a name change for Dixie School District.

What: The Silent March is a quiet walk, rain or shine. We encourage people to wear black or white. The first Silent Parade was held in 1917 in New York City to protest violence against African-Americans. It was the first mass demonstration by African-Americans in the United States. Some parade members wore all-white symbolizing the innocence of African-American victims of violence. Others wore dark suits to convey dignity, determination and solemnity.
