PROTESTS ORGANIZED BY MOVEMENT PARTNERS
Recently, Indivisible National, MoveOn, and Working Families Party partnered in calling for nationwide events at Senate offices.
This initiative led to nearly 300 events across the country covering every state other than Mississippi.
Protestors sent a clear message with chants of “SHUT DOWN THE SENATE” and “DENY UNANIMOUS CONSENT.”
This national coalition also orchestrated a protest in front of the Treasury Building in DC where Maxwell Frost, Jasmine Crockett, and fellow House members tried to enter the building to conduct oversight. Thirty-one senators and House members promised to fight against the unlawful actions of the Trump/Musk Administration.
Indivisible, MoveOn, and others will continue to lead on coordinated protests, and we will be supporting and promoting those events.
PROTESTS ORGANIZED BY LESSER KNOWN INDIVIDUALS/GROUPS
There is a new movement of individuals/groups that are organizing national protests in a more organic, decentralized way. Many are under the umbrella of the 50501 movement. The identities of the organizers are not always transparent, possibly to protect their safety. This NPR article provides good background on this movement and its results thus far.
Note: Indivisible Roseville CA is not endorsing these events, nor are we discouraging our members from making the personal decision to participate. Since they are not organized by a leading, vetted national group, each person should evaluate for themselves their personal risk tolerance. Thus far, these protests have remained peaceful, but that might not always be the case. Should you decide to participate, please review the links below regarding safety guidelines.
